Pokes fall to the Wolfpack / Junior Hawks Play a big Series in Bozeman / Regional Hoops Start Thursday

JUNIOR HOCKEY – The Sheridan Junior Hawks close out the regular season at Bozeman, Montana Friday and Saturday with Bozeman losing one game last week the Hawks still have a shot to win the Frontier division regular season title and the number one playoff seed but they must win both games this weekend.

Hawks Head coach Andy Schieb says it’s amazing after playing a full season that started last September that the league title comes down to the last weekend of the regular season.

And he says it should be a great match up and talks about what makes the

Ice Dogs a good club.

They will have a week off to get ready for the playoffs, the Junior hockey playoffs are set up as a best of three format the Hawks will have the home ice advantage in the first round.

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL – The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams will close out the regular season at Natrona county Friday games times are 6:00 and 7:30 and we will broadcast both live on KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The 4-AEast regional tournament tips off next week at Thunder Basin high school in Gillette.

1-A / 2-A BASKETBALL – Regional basketball tournaments start tomorrow the Arvada / Clearmont Lady Panthers will open the 1-AEast regional in Douglas against Lingle / Fort Laramie.

The Tongue River teams will play at the West regional in Riverton the Lady Eagles open with Wyoming Indian the Eagles will take on Wind River in the first round.

The Big Horn teams head to Torrington for the 2-AEast regional the Lady Rams play Southeast while the Rams square off with Lusk.

SC BASKETBALL – The Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals head into region nine tournament action the women’s tournament starts Saturday with a home game against Laramie county the game will tip Saturday at 2:00 in the Hoffman dome.

The Generals will open the tournament in the first round on the road at Central Wyoming in Riverton Saturday that game will be played at 4:00.

UW BASKETBALL – The Cowboys lost against Nevada last night 73-68 next up for the Pokes is a road game at Fresno state Saturday night at 5:00 you can hear the game on KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The Cowgirls have won four straight they host Fresno state tomorrow night you can hear it live on KWYO and 106.9 FM starting at 6:00.

WRESTLING – The Bronc wrestlers head to Casper Friday for the start of the state wrestling tournament matches get underway Friday morning at the Casper Events Center.

INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD – The Bronc and Lady Bronc indoor track teams will host the regular season finale in Gillette tomorrow, the indoor state championships will be held in Gillette the two day meet starts March 6th.
