Ruthann George

Private family interment for Ruthann George, 74 year old Buffalo resident who passed away Sunday morning at the Johnson County Health Care Center in Buffalo, will be held by her family at a later date. Ruthann George was born on January 22, 1947 in Bangor, Pennsylvania to Kenneth and Mildred LaBar. She grew up and went to school in Bangor and graduated from Bangor Area High School with the class of 1964.  After high school she worked for an independent insurance company and later took a job with Metropolitan Edison Power Company.  She was married on May 18, 1974 in Bangor to Daryl George and they made their home in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where she was a home maker and Daryl worked for Pennsylvania Power and Light Company.  They spent their working lives in Pennsylvania. They retired in 2002 and moved to Buffalo, Wyoming where they continued living until her death.

Ruthann was very active in the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and served as their treasurer for several years. She was also a member of Friends of the Library and PEO. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading novels by local authors. She is survived by her husband Daryl George of Buffalo; one son Brian George and his wife Rachel; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
