There’s a reason why Colson Coon has the most rushing yards in the state all classes, and the most rushing touchdowns in Class 4A.

The junior found the end zone 4 times, to lead Sheridan (10-1) to a 38-24 win at home vs. Natrona (7-4) in the 4A State Semi-finals, and secure a spot for the Broncs in the 4A State Championship Game in Laramie for the 9th time in 13 seasons.

After shutting out the Mustangs 1 month ago, Sheridan knew they were in for a much tougher challenge the second time around.

Natrona would not go away, as they were down by 3 early in the 3rd quarter, and down by 7 several times in the 4th quarter, but the Broncs never let them take the lead.

History was on Sheridan’s side before the game started.

Not counting the championship games in Laramie, the team that has been the home team between Sheridan and Natrona in the post-season, has won every game (12-0).

Sheridan will play Rock Springs (10-1) in the 2021 4A State Championship game on Saturday, November 13th at 4pm at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie.

The Broncs beat the Mustangs 27-24, back on September 17th.

Sheridan will be the only team from the east side of Wyoming playing in a football state championship game.

Each of the other 4 state championship games feature west vs. west.
