The Sheridan County Airport has experienced a substantial increase in passengers utilizing the local air services and is on track to set record numbers this year.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Sheridan County Commissioners Christi Haswell and Commission Chair Nick Siddle updated listeners on the numbers of passengers the airport has seen in 2021 so far.
The Commission Chairman went on to say projections estimate the airport may see 2,000 more passengers than any previous year, well on the way to set new records for Sheridan’s County’s air service.
Visitors seeking wide-open spaces may be a reason for some of this year’s increase but Haswell told listeners visitors account for only a portion of the terminal’s busiest year.
The continuing renovation project has entered Phase II and commissioners hope to have a contractor selected by January of 2022. This next phase of the project will improve the luggage handling services of the airport.
