Wyoming now has the highest rate of COVID deaths in the United States, according to a recent report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Wyoming had 11.9 deaths per 100,000 people in the last seven days, overtaking Montana (whose rate is 11.1 per 100,000 people) to have the highest death rate in the nation.
The state saw 69 COVID-related deaths in the last week, totaling 1,149 total COVID deaths seen in the state since the beginning of the pandemic.
Montana actually saw 119 deaths in the last seven days, but population density factors into Wyoming having the highest rate.
Alaska, Montana and Wyoming are respectively the three states with the highest COVID-19 transmission rates per capita. Wyoming reported 3,037 COVID-19 cases in the past seven days, amounting to 524.7 cases per 100,000 people, according to the CDC.
Florida, California and Connecticut all had some of the lowest death rates in the nation, while Florida and California were also charting low on the list for active COVID case rates.
California currently requires anyone who is not fully vaccinated to wear masks while inside public settings, whereas Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon has repeatedly stated he will not issue any type of mask or vaccine mandate.
Wyoming saw a new peak of COVID-related hospitalizations last week, with 248 people hospitalized across the state due to the virus, according to the Wyoming hospitalization tracker.
Sixty-seven of those patients were at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, while Cheyenne Regional Medical Center had the second-highest number of patients with 34 as of Friday. The Wyoming Medical Center also did not have any available intensive care unit beds as of Friday.
SageWest Health Care in Lander, Memorial Hospital of Carbon County in Rawlins, Cody Regional Health and Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette also had no available ICU beds.
Wyoming’s Legislature will convene this week for a special session to discuss President Joe Biden’s proposed vaccine mandates for companies with more than 100 employees.

So they are saying that the three states with the lowest population density, have the highest transmission rates? Really. Sounds like some fantastic, government sponsored statistics to me.
Just so everyone knows, the government owns and controls the CDC.

Watch out- if you keep exposing the “truth” the black helicopters are going to come for you unless you keep your tinfoil hat on.

Please note the rate is per 100,000 population. That means the population within the state does not matter. That is how all statistics are computed so thst the outcomes are comparable.

not intelligent…a special legislative session in Cheyenne (Laramie County) which has the highest Covid case count and the highest Covid death rate in Wyoming during a pandemic for the specific purpose to circumvent the strategy by the Biden administration to control this virus…sending our legislators to gather in the geographical area with the highest incidence of Covid then after the session is over legislators dispersing and returning home all over the state…given the meaning of this article and the Laramie County Covid statistics this could potentially be a “super spreader event”….misguided move Governor Gordon

Ireland has a vaccination rate of 99.7%, yet according to data published on October 21, Waterford City South has the nation’s highest 14-day incidence rate at 1,486 cases per 100,000 and Tramore-Waterford City West has the third highest at 1,122 cases per 100,000. Thats almost 3 times the rate of all of Wyoming, so whats not working over there??? The vaccine?

Ireland- population just under 5million
Covid deaths @ 5000
Would someone please help Mr. Jones with his math homework?

Read his comment slowly. If you still don’t comprehend what he wrote, ask someone for help.

No, Waterford has a 99.7% vaccination rate. The country has a vaccination rate of approximately 74%. The death rates are much lower than the USA. We can still get Covid-19 but the vaccination lowers the chance of being hospitalized or death.

Joseph- please don’t do their homework for them, it makes them even more intellectually lazy than they are. Maybe if we work together we can teach them to read entire articles instead of just quoting headlines that they think support their warped ieas.

“Super Spreader Event”, hey it’s been a while, people have short memories let’s roll out that propaganda canard again.
Maybe it will work this time around. Since we’ve tapped out our imaginations on fear tactics.
Two weeks to flatten the curve, the first 18 months are the toughest.

Duh? Did you know there were 20,000 people in Laramie Saturday watching a Football game? That “might” be what libtards call a super duper spreader event, I think the odds of someone who dies of Covid from this Special session would be about the same as winning Powerball……… By the way, just hear that Phizer is recommending a FOURTH shot for people who are still alive!

mitch…odds on some legislator contracting Covid who attends the special session at the state capitol?…Wyoming transmission rate is currently listed as “HIGH”…an “indoor” special session with close contacts among legislators is a highly transmissible environment for any virus…odds of someone dying from Covid…dependent on how “robust” that persons immunity system is functioning…”20,000 people in Laramie watching a football game”…?…I hope everyone that attended and their friends, family and close contacts all have robust immune systems

No surprises here. We have a governor and legislature with their heads planted firmly up their asses. People continue to die and Gordo refuses to act. Our legislature is an embarrassment and filled with paranoid Trump-sucking crazies.

14 days to flatten the curve ~ CDC. Did the fully vaccinated Colin Powell pass away from covid, blood cancer, or the vaccine? “Who wants to take an untested experimental vaccine? I wont” ~ biden, the king of vaccine hesitancy.

Agree! These states are also some of the least educated in the nation.

We’re number one! Yay.
I am getting really super duper sick and tired of the FB posts about supporting local healthcare workers through food deliveries or thank you notes or whatnot. Or through useless thoughts and prayers that fill up comments on every single post about this disease.
If people really gave a you-know-what about nursing home residents or healthcare staff, they’d get a vaccination, wear a mask, and stay away from all of the local events that everyone attends where there’s not even a suggestion that people wear masks or keep their distance. You know, like the legislative session that started this week.

Find a state or country that meets your criteria, and relocate. You should also delete your FB account for peace of mind.
