The City of Buffalo received a clean audit report for fiscal year 2019 at their meeting Tuesday night, presented by Jason Lund with Carter, Florek, and James CPAs in Sheridan.

Lund reviewed the report with the city council, saying the financial statements were presented in accordance with generally accepted standards.

No problems were found with the city’s internal structure in the audit, and praise was given to City Clerk Julie Silbernagel for her thorough work.

Three mistakes were found from the 2018 audit when it was reviewed, but they were adjusted in this year’s audit.

The first was a note payable balance overstatement of $56,000; the second was the firefighters/EMT pension plan not incorporated into the city’s overall pension liability; and third was a mistake in the water fund account.

Clerk Silbernagel asked Lund if the city is in good shape, and he said, “yes.”
