At this month’s Johnson County Healthcare Center’s hospital board meeting, trustees were given the Cost Analysis Report for their pending capital construction project from Mark Lyons with Casey Peterson CPAs & Financial Planners,

Lyons said the analysis drew heavily from architectural plans from the Master Site Plan compiled by Dan Odasz with Plan One Architects.

Lyons said he believes Medicare will pay for up to 70% of the cost of the project, due to how they have designed future Medicare Cost Reports and due to the different phases of the project, with the majority of the project being Medicare Medical/Surgical services area, which are more heavily reimbursed by Medicare.

He also explained time frames for the project and the amount of cash the facility will need and what is allowed under Medicare reimbursement rules.

No decision was made by the board, but the information provided will be used in decision-making for funding concerning the capital construction project.
