The Buffalo City Council held a special meeting Tuesday evening to award the contract for the Flatiron Drive Reconstruction Project.

The city accepted the lowest of the nine bids on the project from Barnum Construction of Buffalo, in the amount of just over $2.3 million.

The engineer’s estimate was for nearly $2.5 million.

The special meeting was needed to award the project, so that the contractor could act on material prices used in the bid, as explained by City Works Director Les Hook.

Hook described the scope of the project.

There will also be a second entrance into the subdivision via Cinema Drive when the project is complete, according to discussions at the meeting.

The project is expected to begin in next month and has a tentative completion date in July of 2022.
