Sheridan Woman Changes Plea on Drug Charges

A change of plea hearing was held Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court for 46-year-old Holli Ingalls of Sheridan. On December 4 of last year, Ingalls was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine, and Possession of a Controlled Substance- Heroin. The possession charges are being prosecuted as felonies because Ingalls has previously been convicted three times for similar charges.
Pursuant to terms of a plea agreement reached with the State, Ingalls pleaded guilty to the charge of possessing methamphetamine and no contest to the heroin possession charge. The plea agreement recommends a sentence of 2 to 4 years in prison for each count, and to run the sentences concurrent to one another. District Court Judge John Fenn reminded Ingalls that the Court is by no means bound to the terms of the plea agreement, and can reject the plea deal altogether at sentencing. Judge Fenn ordered that a presentence investigation be completed and set the sentencing date for June 1 at 9 am.
