Pat BlairThe Friends of the Library won’t have their annual auction this year.
Cameron Duff, director of the Sheridan County Library System, announced the cancellation at the library board meeting earlier this week. He said in lieu of the large annual auction, the Friends of the Library instead plan to focus on some smaller fundraising events.
Duff said the organization’s members are considering different fundraisers that can be held throughout the year.
He said the next Friends of the Library meeting will be on March 9, and organization members are still unsure at this time whether they will meet via Zoom or face-to-face.
Duff said the Sheridan County Library Foundation will be meeting Monday. He said the foundation is going to try a hybrid meeting. A few people are having difficulty with the technology of virtual meetings, so an in-person meeting has been planned in Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library’s Wyoming Room, with a Zoom setup for those who want to attend the meeting virtually.
