Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter offers Comfort Cats to keep you company for the holidays

Many isolated residents of Sheridan could use some temporary companionship to get through this unusual year. The Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter has developed a new program called the Comfort Cat for Christmas.
The program offers residents the opportunity to house a cat during this holiday season, without an obligation to keep the cat, to keep residents company who may otherwise be alone or isolated and unable to visit family.
During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, The Dog and Cat Shelter director Jill Moriarty said she asked shelter employees in the cat department to select those cats that have the ability to quickly adapt to new environments.
The shelter will supply everything needed to care for your temporary furry friend, including litter, food, dishes and even toys.
If residents are unable to leave their residence, the shelter can also bring Comfort Cat directly to their door. There is no commitment to keep the cat, Moriarty said. Just an opportunity to have a new friend visit for the holidays.
If you or someone you know may be interested in a Comfort Cat for Christmas, visit the shelter website here, or call 674-7694 and ask about the Comfort Cat for Christmas program.
