Special Olympics to host Summer Sports Classic

Special Olympics Wyoming will host the first competition this week since the shutdown in March.

The Summer Sports Classic will happen Friday and Saturday in Casper and will combine individual softball skills, unified sports golf and cycling competitions.

Participating Wyoming communities include Casper, Douglas, Platte County, Thermopolis, Gillette, Laramie and Sublette County.

The two-day event starts at 8:30 a.m. Friday in Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park with opening remarks, followed by the cycling competition. At 10 a.m., activities move to Casper Municipal Golf Course for the Unified Sports Golf Tournament.

On Saturday, opening remarks will start at 10 a.m at the North Casper Softball Complex, and will be followed by softball competition. All events are open to spectators.
