Sheridan County Library System Director Discusses HB 10
The Wyoming House of Representatives approved House Bill 10 on third reading Friday, February 20. On Monday, the bill was introduced in the Senate and referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee. The Senate Judiciary Committee, on a 3 to 2 vote Wednesday, advanced the bill to the full Senate. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.
House Bill 10, sexually explicit materials in libraries-requirements, is intended to regulate and restrict material that is deemed sexually explicit in school and public libraries. Last week we heard from Wyoming Library Association President Cristine Braddy, who said that they remain steadfastly opposed to the legislation for a number of reasons. Sheridan County Library System Director Amy Long talks about what the bill would do if it is approved by the legislature and becomes law.
Long weighed-in with her thoughts on the proposed legislation.
