Johnson County Chooses Viewer in Vacation of Property

Johnson County’s Commissioners have chosen a viewer in a proposed vacation of a portion of Upper French Creek Road, and also set the deposit amount to be paid by the petitioner.

The petitioner, Andy Wilson, had made the request of the commission to vacate the property and the commission sought a viewer in the matter that will review all pertinent information and give a report to the commission for them to make a decision.

During the commission’s last meeting, they chose Mark Bedford as the viewer.

County Attorney Tucker Ruby advised the commission on the process after the appointment of the viewer.

Ruby said once the deposit is made with the county clerk, the viewer can begin work and bill against the $2,000 deposited for payment.

If the deposit isn’t made, the county will not move forward with the petition to vacate the property.
