Benefitting Black Mountain Nordic
Grants and donations are essential for nonprofit agencies to thrive and prosper. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.
Black Mountain Nordic, a 501 c3 non profit organization that promotes Nordic skiing and non-motorized winter recreation in the greater Sheridan area was one of 12 recipients in Sheridan and Johnson Counties that was awarded a grant from the Sheridan-Johnson Counties Local Board of the Wyoming Community Foundation. The award was part of the Wyoming Community Foundation’s fall grant cycle. Black Mountain Nordic Executive Director Nick Flores.
Flores talks about the $10,000 grant they received from the Sheridan-Johnson Counties Local Board of the Wyoming Community Foundation and how they are trying to make that money go even further.

Sheridan-Johnson Counties Local Board of the Wyoming Community Foundation awarded a total of $227,592 in grants to nonprofits in Sheridan and Johnson Counties in 2025. The Wyoming Community Foundation has two competitive grant cycles a year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Applications for the spring grant cycle must be submitted by March 15.
