SCSD#1 Board Recognizes Championship Drama Team
The SCSD#1 Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, January 20, in Big Horn.
The board recognized the Big Horn High School Championship Drama Team. Coach Dustin Olsen said that this is the 4th year that the team has won the state championship.
Job coach Stephanie Aitchison talked about the mock interviews that the students participated in recently.
In his superintendent’s report on the SCSD#1 website, Dr. Jeff Jones talked about his current Check and Connect sessions, and he said the constant theme across these conversations was an appreication of the school staff across the district.
The point was made over and over that parents appreciate the balanced emphasis on student academics and relationship building so all students feel a part of the school culture.
A special mention was made on the Big Horn side with regards to Mr. Ryan Fuhrman’s leadership as the new principal of Big Horn High School. Stakeholders shared that the overall climate at BHS feels positive and forward-looking, with a clear emphasis on accountability and fairness that is resonating with students, staff, and families.
The board also approved to extend Superintendent Jone’s contract until 2029.
The board also heard a presentation on the audit and moved to approve it.
