City Approves Agreement With County for Business Incubator

A one-cent funding agreement between the City of Sheridan and Sheridan County was approved by the Sheridan City Council by a vote of 5 to 1 at their most recent meeting for the Impact Sheridan program, formerly known as the Wyoming Technology Business Center in Sheridan. Impact Sheridan has managed the Sheridan-area business incubator located on Double Eagle Drive since early 2015. Councilman Clint Beaver recused himself from the vote due to a perceived conflict of interest. Sheridan Mayor Roger Miller was the lone “no” vote on the agreement with the County.
The one-year funding agreement that was approved by the Council was in the amount of $60,000 for the fiscal year that begins on July 1. City Attorney Brendon Kerns said that there would be some retroactive payments that would be occurring totalling $80,000.
Earlier this month, the University of Wyoming announced that the Wyoming Technology Business Center was rebranded to Impact 307, and that the Sheridan WTBC incubator was rebranded to Impact Sheridan.
