Museum at the Bighorns Unveils Floor Plan

The Museum of the Bighorns is making progress, Museum Director Carrie Edinger said. During the recent Christmas Stroll, they unveiled the concept for the exhibit space and the floor plan. She explained what would be in the museum, beginning with the landscape.

Businesses are necessary for a town’s growth, and there will be exhibits about commerce in the area.

Rodeo has been a part of Sheridan almost since the beginning. Rodeo evolved from ranching, and the ranching culture was and continues to be a big part of the Sheridan area economy and culture.

One exhibit that will be a part of the 250 Anniversary of the United States next year is a traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian.

The gift shop has a wealth of books by local authors, and other gifts from local craftsmen.

Winter hours are Tues-Saturday 10-5. Hours will be expanded during the summer, Director of Operations Chip King said. The ultimate goal will be to be open 7 days a week and to be open in the evening.
