Sheridan to Offer Citizens Academy
City of Sheridan Mayor Rich Bridger and City Administrator Stuart McRae made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse and announced the City of Sheridan will be launching a free 8-week Citizens Academy to give residents a detailed look into the operations of the city.
Citizen academies focus on city structure, services (like public works, finance), elected officials, and community boards and committees, teaching residents how local government and their departments work.

McRae said each week will cover a different module that explores the internal operations and challenges of the various city departments and services.

The Mayor said this will offer an opportunity to residents as a way to learn, ask questions, and connect with the people that keep Sheridan operating.
According to McRae, applications may be offered sometime in the middle to late summer season. The initial class will be approximately 20 people to ensure everyone in the course has time to experience each module’s practical exercises.
