Annual Fireworks Show in Big Horn is a ‘Go’

Published

The Big Horn Equestrian Center has announced that the annual fireworks celebration and Big Horn Lions Club fundraising event at the Big Horn Equestrian Center will take place Saturday, July 4. A news release from the Equestrian Center states that they have received approval from the State Health Department and will be following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Wyoming Department of Health recommendations to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

While organizers have been given the green light to go forward with the event, there will be some changes this year. Gates will not open until 5:30 pm and there will be no bands or entertainment this year. People can bring their own food and beverages, or you can purchase items from vendors that will be on site. The clubhouse will be serving adult beverages. All food and beverage vendors will be following social distancing guidelines and food safety precautions. Event organizers are requesting that people respect distancing between vehicles and that people consume food and beverages in proximity to their parking space. Staff will be using masks and gloves if they are to have direct contact with or close proximity to another person.

The use of masks is encouraged for attendees if you will be in close proximity to anyone not in your household. Your safest alternative is to maintain personal distancing recommendations. For the safety of all attendees there will be hand sanitizer and wash stations available at all portable toilet locations. Remember that this community event is put on as a fundraiser for the Big Horn Lions Club.  Your contributions this day help fund scholarships for local students and to provide the gift of sight to those in our community in need. We are so fortunate to be able to hold a gathering of this size.  It is our hope that we all can keep each other safe so that we can continue to provide community-based activities at the Equestrian Center throughout the summer and fall. As is the case each year, this event is dependent upon the weather and other unforeseen circumstances.  Watch the Big Horn Equestrian Center Facebook page for the most current updates.
