Sheridan County Detention Center Lieutenant Charlie Gibbons made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to announce the detention center has received five employed detention deputies.
The Detention Center Lieutenant took the opportunity to thank the families of the new deputies who have returned from nine weeks of training at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy in Douglas.

The addition of these deputies means the center now has the recommended amount of law enforcement personnel on staff. But Gibbons said the center is looking for more civilians to man the automatic door system.
In many other locations, serving within a detention center is a requirement of new deputies and officers. Gibbons said the knowledge gained in the detention center is valuable but mandatory detention center duty is not the case in Sheridan County.
