Re-testing of the election equipment in Sheridan County will be conducted on Saturday, August 17 beginning at 8 a.m. in the Election Office on the second floor, according to County Clerk Eda Schunk Thompson.

In a release, Schunk-Thompson said the test is open to representatives of each party as well as candidates and the public.

Due to time constraints with preparation for the 2024 Primary Election, this is the earliest notice she could provide for the re-test.

She said all machines will be tested except the DS200, which is currently used for early absentee voters.

She intends to re-insert all those ballots into another retested machine after the election and prior to canvassing to compare results.

She asks that cities and towns let their candidates know, and for Party Chairmen to let their candidates know about the re-testing Saturday.

Questions or concerns can be directed to Clerk Eda Schunk Thompson.
