Eight Sheridan residents applied to fill the vacant council position that was created by the resignation of Councilman Shawn Day last month due to his recent move outside of City limits.  The City Council interviewed each of the eight candidates at a study session on Monday, March 11. Six of the eight candidates were nominated for consideration under new business at Monday night’s City Council meeting. The first and only nominee to receive a majority vote of the governing body was Aaron Linden, who was sworn-in by City Clerk Cecilia Good shortly after the Council’s vote to have Linden fill the unexpired term.

Well done Council and in a timely manner…and no Judge involved. Imagine that. Following the law to fill a vacancy actually works.
