GPET Funding Requests

Last fall the City of Sheridan solicited applications from interested governmental and nonprofit agencies within the City for General Purpose Excise Tax Funds for the 2024-2025 fiscal year budget. Sheridan Mayor Rich Bridger informed the City Council this week that the GPET allocations will be up for consideration at the Council’s next regular business meeting.
A year ago in March, the City Council approved the allocation of General Purpose Excise Tax Funds for 16 different non profit agencies for a total of $437,500. In November of 2022, residents voted to continue to levy the tax, which, according to the City, has been approved consistently since the 1980s.
