Council Considers Government Initiated Annexations Resolution

The topic of government initiated annexations was addressed at the most recent Sheridan City Council meeting. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Wyoming law requires municipalities to adopt a resolution when pursuing government-initiated annexations. This resolution serves as a formal declaration of the municipality’s intent to annex specific territory and ensures compliance with statutory obligations. A resolution regarding government initiated annexations was considered and unanimously approved by the Sheridan City Council at their recent business meeting. City Public Works Director Hanns Mercer.
Sheridan County Elections Supervisor James Temple addressed the Council and Mayor Rich Bridger.
Mercer said the approval of the resolution authorizes the City to proceed with sending out certified letters, scheduling a public hearing and finalizing the annexation reports for the areas that will be annexed into the City.
