During their last meeting, Buffalo’s City Council discussed Resolution No. 1473, which was written to adopt new pay scales for police and dispatch personnel with the Buffalo Police Department.

Mayor Shane Schrader explained that due to inflation being at a nearly 40-year high, it has made it difficult to recruit and retain those personnel at the previous pay scale.

The city completed a survey of pay scales in surrounding communities and determined the city needed to increase them to remain competitive and help in recruitment and retaining of employees.

Police Chief Sean Bissett addressed the council about the change in pay scales.

The council voted to approve and accept Resolution No. 1473.
