cvannoyA nearly full moon and chilly 30-degree weather greeted the large crowd of shoppers at the Candy Cane Christmas Stroll 2023
Dixie Johnson, CEO of the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce, talked about the 2023 Christmas Stroll.
Johnson said that they start selling stroll buttons around the first of November, and they sell them until they are sold out. She said they printed 3000 buttons this year.
She added that although the Chamber is sold out of the buttons, there may still be some available in some businesses.
London Mefford, Vivian Morrey and Teeka Baker, Sheridan WYO Rodeo Royalty, were at the Stroll talking about what they do and saying that they would like to encourage other girls to compete for the titles of WYO Rodeo Queen, Princesses, and trying out for the Little Miss Rodeo Competition.

The three girls also explained what they compete in on their horses. Mefford spoke first, followed by Morrey and then Baker.
Special music was provided up and down main street, and some members of the Sheridan High School Band, played Christmas Carols.

Windows were decorated with lights and Christmas scenes, and there were free hay wagon rides for those wanting a break from walking.
Santa and Mrs. Claus were there to hear what youngsters wanted Christmas morning, and their story was posted early today. There was cocoa, hot cider, chili, soup, coffee, and cookies were available, and there was a free marshmallow roasting on Grinnell Plaza. The Big Horn High School was selling kettle corn to help raise funds for a trip. The grand finale of the evening was fireworks display at 9 p.m.
