Local Legislator Talks Budget Amendment to Help Wildlife

Representative Cyrus Western ran a budget amendment during the 2020 Budget Session of the 65th Wyoming Legislature that would hopefully have a positive effect on deer populations around the state. The idea was explained recently on our news talk show Public Pulse by Representative Western.
Western’s amendment was passed on second reading with 32 in favor and 28 opposed. To view the details, follow this link https://wyoleg.gov/2020/Amends/HB0001H2013.pdf.

We need to take steps to protect and enhance “landscapes” that support these populations. Not that these small steps aren’t important, but in the long run mule deer need to have freedom to move across these landscapes from summer to winter range, unimpeded. And those ranges need to be in good condition.
