Ron RichterU.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) expressed her concerns Friday after President Joe Biden sent Congress a $100 billion funding request to provide aid to Ukraine and Israel. Lummis joined eight of her colleagues in sending a letter to Senate leadership requesting that aid packages for Israel and Ukraine be voted on separately. Lummis said the Biden administration should not use the crisis in Israel – and our desire to help our strongest ally – to get additional funding for Ukraine across the finish line, especially as people in Wyoming struggle to afford record-breaking inflation rates. The Senator added that the wars we’re seeing unfold in both Israel and Ukraine are heartbreaking, but they are two separate conflicts, and the aid we give one country should not be contingent on another.
Congress has provided $113 billion in U.S. taxpayer dollars to Ukraine. With our national debt of $33 trillion, Lummis said she has concerns over continuing to spend billions of dollars on foreign assistance without a means to pay for it at a time when there are real issues facing the American people including the southern border crisis and record-high inflation due to the government’s excessive spending.

And where were your concerns when you voted to blow a nearly 8 trillion dollar whole in the budget with unsustainable tax cuts? Trickle down hasn’t worked even once since Reagan came up with it, yet every time a Republican takes the White House he tries a new version of it- but it’s all the same “Voodoo Economics”. Then when a Democrat comes along to try to clean up the mess you suddenly start believing in fiscal responsibility.

Where is all the concern over Bush and trump’s tax cuts for the rich and corporations? Those tax cuts have directly affected this nation’s tax revenues while the rich and corporations continue to thumb their noses at we the little people who are forced to pay more and more.

All money and spending bills are to originate in the House, as per the US Constitution. The Executive has no authority to spend taxpayer money on give-aways to foreign countries, especially when the US is 33 trillion dollars beyond Broke.
