Ron RichterManufacturing Day is an annual national event to showcase modern manufacturing technology and to help shape people’s perceptions about today’s manufacturing environment and draw attention to the opportunities that a career in manufacturing can provide. The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Business Retention and Expansion Committee, in partnership with Manufacturing Works, will celebrate national Manufacturing Day Friday, October 6,, with free public tours of local manufacturers. Ten businesses in Sheridan and Johnson counties will open their doors to the public and provide free tours and demonstrations.
Chamber CEO Dixie Johnson said Manufacturing Day is the biggest annual opportunity to inspire the next generation of creators and show them that modern manufacturing is a vibrant and growing industry that offers diverse, high-paying career opportunities She added that the celebration also allows them to highlight the innovative work local companies are doing and their hope is that these events inspire the next generation of workforce talent to pursue a rewarding career in manufacturing.
This year’s Manufacturing Day tour schedule is as follows:
