Sheridan County’s Commissioners have ratified a letter to Governor Mark Gordon, Chairman of the Wyoming Board of Land Commissioners, concerning the proposed Columbus Peak Ranch Land Exchange.

The letter is asking the governor to have the Wyoming Board of Land Commissioners hold a public hearing in Sheridan County on the matter, prior to any action being taken on the proposed exchange.

The letter referenced a recent presentation by Rick Clark, Chairman of the State Lands Action Team, where new information on the proposed exchange had prompted the request for the public hearing.

According to an earlier report from Cowboy State Daily, “the proposed swap outside Dayton…would involve trading 628.35 acres of privately-owned land and an additional $410,950 for 560 acres of state trust land about 10 miles away.”
