Local Group Purchases Spear-O-Wigwam

A small group of local investors finalized the purchase of Spear-O-Wigwam from Sheridan College on Monday. According to a news release issued by the local investors, the purpose and intent of the new owners is to allow the public access to the beauty of the mountains and the Red Grade facility. All the new owners are Wyoming natives, more than half live in the Sheridan area. One of the owners, Curt Symons, said in the release that one of the specific goals is that the youth can experience and grow so that their time spent at Spear-O-Wigwam will be uplifting and edifying throughout their lives. The function of the resort is to allow people to have overnight experiences in the Big Horns.

Since Spear-O-Wigwam has not been open to the public for several years, not everything will be available when the resort opens in May of this year. An open house and grand opening are anticipated to take place at the beginning of the summer.
