Johnson County Hazardous Waste Day Saturday

Johnson County’s Free Hazardous Waste Collection Day will be this Saturday, June 3 from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. at the county landfill.

Farmers, ranchers, homeowners, and individuals can dispose of pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, poisons; and hazardous household waste such as cleaners, paint, paint thinners, glues, and antifreeze; used oil and tires; and vehicle batteries by bringing them to the landfill to be collected and properly disposed of.

No business hazardous waste can be accepted.

Used vehicle tires up to 20 inches, truck tires from 20 to 24 inches, and tractor tires up to 50 inches will be accepted, but no rims or inner tubes can be taken.

No e-waste, small appliances, metal scrap or large appliances can be accepted during the event.

The collection day is sponsored by the Clear Creek Conservation District, Johnson County Commissioners, Johnson County Solid Waste District, Powder River Conservation District, and Mr. R’s Auto Salvage.
