Game and Fish announce Free Fishing Day

The Wyoming Game and Fish are once again inviting anglers to celebrate the Cowboy State’s five-star fisheries this year by fishing without a license, for free.
The Game and Fish Department is alerting the public to Free Fishing Day on June 3. Each year the department designates the first Saturday of National Boating and Fishing Week as a free fishing day when anyone can fish in Wyoming — except within the Wind River Reservation and Yellowstone National Park — without a fishing license.
All fishing regulations, creel and size limits, gear restrictions and stream closures remain in effect. Anglers can review the 2023 Fishing Regulations online before heading out and planning their trips with the interactive fishing guide.
Should anglers be taking boats to enjoy the day, Game and Fish Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt reminds the public to stop at all Aquatic Invasive Species Check Stations, even if your boat has already undergone an inspection.
AIS Check Stations and public participation are the greatest protection from AIS infiltrating Wyoming’s waters.
Locations of check stations can be found here.
