Ron RichterA request to transfer retail liquor license #23 and bar and grill license #6 to 205 Coffeen Avenue in Sheridan was an item of consideration for the Sheridan City Council Monday night. City Clerk Cecilia Good said Spruce, LLC currently holds both licenses.
Retail liquor license #23 is the license the City received due to a population increase that was reported in the 2020 Census. It was awarded to Spruce, LLC in May of last year through a lottery system. Good said Spruce intends to use the retail license on the second floor of the building, while the bar and grill license will be used on the first floor to operate as a restaurant. Councilman Andrew Patceg expressed a number of concerns he had about the location.
Councilman Steve Brantz voiced his concerns while addressing Spruce Co-Owner Heather Sorenson.
Councilor Kristen Jennings asked Sorenson about a timeframe for opening.
The request to transfer the two licenses passed by a vote of 4 to 3, with Councilors Brantz, Patceg, and Jennings voting against the transfer.
