The Advocacy & Resource Center’s largest fundraiser, Love Shouldn’t Hurt, was held Friday, Feb. 17, at the Ramada in Sheridan. The night featured live music by the Dueling Pianos and Sidetrack to raise funds for the center.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Advocacy Center Volunteer Coordinator and Victim’s Advocate Brittany Hamilton told listeners it was the most attended banquet that she could remember, creating a night of laughs and fellowship that those in attendance will remember for years to come.
The Love Shouldn’t Hurt Banquet raised approximately $9,600 this year. These funds will be utilized by the center to cover lost funding due to budget cuts at the federal and state levels.
Hamilton said these funds will go to the needs of the many people aided by the Advocacy and Resource Center that cannot be paid for with grant funding by regulation.
According to the center’s Executive Director, Yvonne Swanson, this year’s Love Should Hurt Banquet was made possible by the generosity of Heartland Kubota, LLC., Bank of the West, Kennon, First Northern Bank, State Farm, First Bank of Wyoming, The Pawn Borker, First Federal Bank & Trust, WWC Engineering, Martinizing Dry Cleaning, Sugarland Enterprise, VacuTech, Java Moon and the Ramada.
