More roads within two national parks in Wyoming are opening up for the upcoming summer traveling season.

This Friday (May 6th), the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park is scheduled to open to motor vehicle traffic, as well as the road from Canyon Village to Lake Village.

The park cautions motorists that if a spring snowstorm hits the area, it could force the entrance and roads to temporarily reclose, until conditions are safe again.

The south entrance is scheduled to open on Friday of next week.

Road construction projects in the park include work on the highway between Old Faithful and the West Thumb intersection and the Lewis River Bridge, located north of the South entrance.

Dunraven Pass and the Beartooth Highway are scheduled to open on May 27th.

Elsewhere, the main road within Grand Teton National Park opened to motor vehicle traffic this past Sunday (May 1st).

There is construction work going on in the Jackson Lake Dam area, but park officials say travel impacts in that area should be minimal.
