Gov. Mark Gordon had strong words for the people in Wyoming during a Wednesday news conference, telling those questioning precautionary measures — such as wearing masks — designed to stop the spread of the coronavirus, that acting irresponsibly isn’t helping anyone.
The governor gave an example of how easily the virus is spread stating that a friend of his recently experienced a truck breaking down and called for help.
Someone, Gordon said, who had just tested positive for the coronavirus and wasn’t wearing a mask, came to assist him. This passed on the virus to Gordon’s friend, making him very ill.
“That just tells me our country, our patriotism have gone awry,” Gordon said. “If you are a patriot, if you love this country, you will recognize this is an hour of need for our country and we must come together to help fight this terrible, terrible disease. We can do that … in a way that our children will respect and tell of for generations to come.”
Referring to a copy of U.S. Constitution, he said the document, along with the Wyoming Constitution, is what he lives by and further gives him a strong belief that Wyoming residents will rise up to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
“I will say, we act irresponsibly, we put our liberties and our government in jeopardy,” he said. “This is something that every Wyoming citizen should take seriously.”
Gordon also noted during his conference that the virus was neither the flu nor the chickenpox, and certainly not a cold.
Cases are spiking significantly in long-term care facilities, Dr. Alexia Harrist said during the news conference. There are currently 23 lab-confirmed cases in five facilities across the state.
She did point to the lack of outbreaks in Wyoming’s schools, showing that using masks does make a difference when it comes to preventing the spread of the virus.

This sounds exactly like what the governors in California and Colorado are saying-“comply or I will have your freedoms removed”. Unbelievable, I never thought this would happen in Wyoming

Sam what he Really said was> be a considerate human, have respect for others and wear a mask to help STOP the spread of this virus that has killed 220,000 Americans. It is NOT a right to infect others just because masks are uncomfortable or because the great tweeter has made showing common decency and respect for others, something political or unpatriotic. Come on man,it is simply the Right thing to do..

That’s absolutely not what he said. If you want to interpret it that way, go ahead. It is absolutely my right to carry on with my life as I see fit. If you get infected because of it, I guess you should have stayed in your house. The slope you’re slipping down leads to me having to wear a mask in perpetuity because you don’t want to catch a cold. Beat it. Your fear=not my problem.

What Mr. Gordon really is saying is ” Do as I say, not as I do!!” If he really believed what he was saying why was there a massive gathering he attended on 10/21/20 at the Casper Events Center with no distancing and nary a mask in sight. Worst of all he was arm in arm with three other guests for a photo op; without masks. C’mon Mark!!

I agree Juan. If you are going to lead then lead… But it doesn’t change the desperate need, for ALL of us to wear masks to keep this deadly virus from spreading. Please folks regardless of your politics, listen to the doctors. Please wear your masks, the great tweeter didn’t, as a result his whole family and staff was infected.

COVID is a coronavirus which is also what the flu and colds are. If you look at the data – the actual data tables put out by solid data collection sites – there has never been need of the fear, panic, and hysteria this virus has generated. If you want to wear a mask because you feel that it’s necessary for you, fine, but to call people irresponsible for not wearing a mask is, in itself, irresponsible. If we are trying to live in a sterile world we make end up making everybody vulnerable.

Solid Collection Sites ?? I will stick with the CDC FDA and the presidents Corona task force. Real Doctors with Real health facts. Not some unnamed source on facebook or tweeterland. Does your source tell you how many deaths from flu and colds since January? My real fact health sources tell me 220,000 deaths from covid. Of Course, we all know if it is on the internet it must be true..

Why live in fear.
The survivor rates from the CDC. Broken down by age:
99.997% survival rate for 0-19, 99.98% for 20-49, 99.5% for 50-69, 94.6% for 70 and over.
Why live in fear? why live in your basement? Why scare the population to death? Why do we even have any lockdowns? why are businesses not open at 100% capacity? Makes no sense.
