Sheridan County’s December 2021 Unemployment Numbers Increase; Johnson County Holds Steady

New Wyoming state-wide unemployment numbers suggest things are settling back to normal on the job market.
The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Wyoming dropped from 3.7% in November 2021 to 3.3% in December.
That percentage is below the national rate of 3.9%.
Teton County had the lowest unemployment rate in the Cowboy State at 1.6%, while Natrona County had the highest rate at 3.1%.
Sheridan County had a 2.2% unemployment rate for December 2021.
That’s up from 2.1% in November, and down from 4.7% in December of 2020.
The county was only 1 of 2 counties in the state that had an increase, with Albany County being the other.
Johnson County had a 2.3% unemployment rate for December 2021.
That’s unchanged from November, and down from 4.9% in December of 2020.
The Department of Workforce Services adds that the number of nonfarm employment in the state was up by 4,100 jobs in December 2021, compared to December 2020.
