Sheridan/Johnson County Unemployment Numbers Slightly Change In July 2026

Unemployment rates for July in both Sheridan and Johnson Counties changed compared to the previous month, but not by much.

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says the statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July 2026 was at 3.0%, which is down from 3.2% in June and down from 3.3% compared to July of last year.

The US Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July was at 4.1%, which is down from 4.2% in June, and down from 4.3% from July 2025.

Rates in Sheridan and Johnson Counties were both at 2.3% in July, which is 0.1% down for Sheridan County and 0.1% up for Johnson County, compared to the month prior.

Sheridan County’s new rate is below last year’s rate of 2.7%, while Johnson County’s new rate is slightly higher than last year’s rate of 2.2%.

The lowest unemployment rate in Wyoming for July was in Teton County at 1.6%, while the highest rate was in Fremont County at 3.5%.

Non-farm employment numbers in the Cowboy State were unchanged from July of ‘25 to July of ‘26.
