Amending Chapter 20 of City Code

An ordinance amending Chapter 20 of City of Sheridan Municipal Code was approved on first reading by the Sheridan City Council at their business meeting Monday night.  City Attorney Brad Thimmesch says the amendment pertains to the pawnbrokers and second hand dealers section of City Code.

Thimmesch said there is an exemption to these requirements if the Police chief finds that the business is less apt to receive stolen goods. First reading of the ordinance was approved on a 5 to 1 vote. Councilman Terry Weitzel was not present at the meeting and Councilman Andy Patceg cast the lone no vote for the ordinance.
