The Food Group has moved locations to 1141 Crook St., due to the growing size and scope of the organization.
Executive Director of The Food Group Keri McMeans told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse the organization simply outgrew the old location.
The Food Group feeds 400 children from 24 different schools in the Sheridan Region every week as well as supply and maintain 18 little free pantries and seven teen pantries located throughout the communities that feed 150-200 kids every week. During the summer, 300 kids are served every week with summer food distribution as well as numerous children attending The Food Groups partner programs, Book and a Bite and Camp in the Park with the Sheridan COunty Library and Sheridan County YMCA, respectively.
McMeans said all of these monumental efforts are accomplished by The Food Groups dedicated volunteers.
If residents would like to volunteer, McMeans said the best place to start would be The Food Groups webpage, which can be found here, and fill out the volunteer worksheet.
