Cryptocurrency was a topic of discussion during a recent ZOOM call with U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.
Senator Lummis said one of her priorities this year will be to once again introduce the Responsible Financial Innovation Act with U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York. Lummis, during the conference call, said the act is a comprehensive bill to regulate cryptocurrencies. She was asked if Wyoming should continue to court crypto companies?
Lummis said under Wyoming law, there would have to be adequate consumer disclosures.
Lummis said the Responsible Financial Innovation Act creates regulatory clarity for agencies charged with supervising digital asset markets, provides a strong, tailored regulatory framework for stablecoins, and integrates digital assets into our existing tax and banking laws.
