Basketball can be a game of runs sometimes, and it can be the last one that makes the difference.

The Tongue River boys basketball had the answer every time Big Piney made a run, and eventually wore down the opposition, in route to a 70-55 win at the 2A State Tournament.

Garrett Ostler (19), Eli Cummins (11) and Brant Bockman (10), were the 3 Eagles that scored in double figures.

The Punchers countered with Jovany Munoz (14), Rueben Stoutenburg (12) and Koy Walton (12).

Points off of turnovers was the biggest difference in the game.

TR won that category 30-6.

BP had more bench scoring (30-17), but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.

The Eagles advance to the semi-finals on Friday, March 4th at 9pm at the Ford Wyoming Center vs. Pine Bluffs.
