Both Tongue River teams, along with the Big Horn boys are heading to the state tournament in Casper.
Meanwhile, both Sheridan teams are preparing for the regional tournament in Cheyenne.
Sheridan Boys:
The Broncs concluded the regular season by winning their home final on Friday vs. Kelly Walsh, 63-46.
Sheridan is 16-4 on the season and 6-4 in the 4A East.
The Broncs will rematch KW in the first round of the regional tournament, on Thursday March 3rd (tip-off at 1:30pm).
Sheridan Girls:
Like the boys, the Lady Broncs also finished the regular season on a high note in their home finale.
Sheridan won on Friday at home vs. Kelly Walsh 51-35.
The Lady Broncs are 11-9 on the season, and 4-6 in the 4A East.
Sheridan will open the regional tournament on Thursday, March 3rd in Cheyenne vs. Central (tip-off at noon).
Big Horn Boys:
The Rams are in the state tournament for the 4th straight year, and their 11th time in the last 13.
Playing in the 2A East Regional Tournament in Pine Bluffs, BH won in the first round on Thursday vs. Glenrock 60-29.
Then on Friday, Big Horn upset the top seed and host team Pine Bluffs 54-46, to advance to the regional championship game, and qualify for the state tournament.
On Saturday, the Rams lost to Tongue River 64-46, to finish as regional runners-up.
BH is 14-10 on the season.
The Rams open the 2A State Tournament on Thursday, March 3rd at Natrona County High School vs. Rocky Mountain (tip-off at noon).
Depending on the outcome of that game, they will play either Wind River or Wright on Friday at the Ford Wyoming Center.
Big Horn Girls:
The Lady Rams will miss the state tournament for the 3rd straight year.
Playing the 2A East Regional Tournament at Pine Bluffs, BH lost in the first round on Thursday vs. Moorcroft 52-23.
Then on Friday, Big Horn’s season ended with a loss vs. Tongue River 55-16.
The Lady Rams finish the season with a record of 2-21.
Tongue River Boys:
After missing out last year, the Eagles are back in the state tournament as the #1 seed out of the East.
Playing in the 2A East Regional Tournament at Pine Bluffs, TR won their first round game on Thursday vs. Moorcroft 71-36.
On Friday, Tongue River defeated Wright 83-43, to advance to the regional championship game and qualify for the state tournament.
The Eagles defeated Big Horn on Saturday 64-46 to win the tournament.
TR is 22-3 on the season.
On Saturday, Tongue River won at Moorcroft 72-56.
The Eagles are 22-3 on the season.
TR opens the 2A State Tournament on Thursday, March 3rd at Natrona County High School vs. Big Piney (9pm tip-off).
Depending on the outcome of that game, they will play either Shoshoni or Pine Bluffs on Friday at the Ford Wyoming Center.
Tongue River Girls:
For the first time since Coach Dianne Moser retired in 2015, the Lady Eagles are back in the state tournament.
Playing in the 2A East Regional Tournament at Pine Bluffs, TR lost in the first round on Thursday vs. Glenrock 30-28.
That put Tongue River in the consolation round, and on Friday, the girls would eliminate Big Horn on Friday 55-16.
Then on Saturday the Lady Eagles upset the top-seed and host team Pine Bluffs 39-37 to qualify for the state tournament.
TR then won their rematch vs. Glenrock later that day 46-41 to claim 3rd place.
Tongue River is 11-15 on the season.
The Lady Eagles open the 2A State Tournament on Thursday, Match 3rd at Natrona County High School vs. Wyoming Indian (9am tip-off).
Depending on the outcome of that game, they will either play Moorcroft or St. Stephens on Friday at the Ford Wyoming Center.
Arvada-Clearmont Girls:
The Lady Panthers will miss the state tournament for the 3rd straight season.
Playing the 1A East Regional Tournament in Torrington, A-C lost in the first round on Thursday, vs. Lingle-Ft. Laramie 49-21.
Then on Friday, the season ended for Arvada-Clearmont, losing 35-30 in OT vs. H.E.M.
Arvada-Clearmont finishes the season with a record of 7-13.
