The season for the Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey Team came to an end this past weekend.

The team came out on the short end in the best 2 out 3 series vs. Great Falls in the first round of the playoffs.

Last year the Hawks finished 6th in the standings and missed the postseason.

This year Sheridan finished 2nd.

Head Coach J.J. Santagata explains some of the improvements the team has gone through compared to this time one year ago.

“I think the big thing that we look at from last year to this year is just the buy in to the message from the top and just the character we have in this room. Skill-wise obviously probably a more talented team, but at the end of the day I don’t think skill has won us games this year, I think it’s just been the guys buying into each other, a little bit more tight knit group and just the character.”

Overall, the Hawks finished this season with a record of 29-21.
