The Wyoming High School Spring Sports Season concludes this weekend.

State Soccer: The 4A State Tournament will be played at Rock Springs, while the 3A State Tournament will be held at Green River.

The Sheridan boys are the #2 seed from the East and Rock Springs is the #3 seed out of the west, thus the 2 teams will play each other in the first round on Thursday at 11am.

Broncs Head Coach Wade Kinsey says Sheridan hardly ever gets a chance to play teams from the west outside of the state tournament, and when the team learned they were playing the hosts in the first round, the boys were not that concerned.

The Buffalo boys and girls also made it to the state tournament.

The Bison play the host team, Green River at 4pm, while the Lady Bison take on Lander at 2pm.

Sheridan County HS Track and Field: The State Track and Field meet is this Thursday thru Saturday at Casper.

Competition starts at 3pm on Thursday, and at 9am on the other 2 days.

Most of the running championships will take place on Saturday in particular the 3 short distance races, and both hurdles races in both genders of all 4 classes.

On Thursday, champions will be crowned in the 3200 meter run, and the 1600 meter sprint medley relay, while preliminary races will be held in the 100 and 110 meter hurdles races.

As for the field events, most of them will take place on Thursday and Friday, and a few will take place Saturday morning.

Sheridan Maverick/Lady Maverick Lacrosse: This weekend is the Montana High School lacrosse association state tournament, which will be played in Helena.

We are still waiting for a bracket to be made available.

Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers play a home double-header this Sunday vs. the Billings Expos.

Start time is scheduled for 3pm.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies have now won 5 in a row, after winning last night at San Diego 5-4, to improve their record to 13-28 on the season.

Game 2 of the 3 game series is tonight starting at 7:40.

Denver Nuggets Basketball/NBA Playoffs: The Denver Nuggets host Game 5 of their second round best of 7 playoff series vs. Minnesota tonight starting at 8:30.

The series is tied at 2 wins each, and the visiting team has won every game so far.

Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday at Minnesota.

Last night in the playoffs, Boston won at Cleveland 109-102 to take a 3-1 lead in their series.

Oklahoma City won game 4 at Dallas 100-96 to tie up their series at 2.

Colorado Avalanche Hockey/NHL Playoffs: The Colorado Avalanche got roughed up at home last night by Dallas 5-1, and now trail their second round best of 7 series 3-1.

Game 5 is scheduled for tomorrow at Dallas.

The Avs have to win that to force Game 6 which would be Friday at Denver.

Also last night, for the second straight game, Carolina survived elimination again, by winning at the New York Rangers 4-1.

The Hurricanes trail the series 3-2.

Game 6 is Thursday at Carolina.
