The Lady Broncs jumped out to an 11-zip lead vs. Rock Springs, and had a 25-point lead early in the 3rd quarter, before letting the opposition off the hook and settled for a 59-44 win.

Mesa Hanft led all scorers with 19 points, Adeline Burgess added 15, courtesy of 5 3’s to increase her season total to 71, and Alli Ligocki contributed with 14.

Sheridan plays in the semi-finals this afternoon at 4:30 against defending 4A State Champ Cody, at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper.

You can hear that game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The teams met back in December at Cody and the Fillies won by 2.

Coach Ryan Sullivan says 3 months ago was just that…3 months ago.

Knowing that, he did a little looking ahead earlier this week.

The Fillies lost their first game of the season and since then, they have won 22 games in a row.

They boast the #1 scoring offense in Class 4A averaging a little less than 62 points per game, and they have the #1 scoring defense in Class 4A, giving up an average of 33.5 points per game.

Cody also has Molly Hays who has the highest scoring average in class 4A at 23.9 points per game and she is last year’s Gatorade Player of the Year.

University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys conclude the regular season tomorrow at Fresno State.

Tip-off is scheduled for 5pm.

The start time of that game is still to be announced.

The Mountain West Conference Women’s basketball tournament starts Sunday.

The Wyoming Cowgirls have a first round bye and will play in the last game of the day on Monday vs. the winner of Sunday’s game between Boise State and Utah State at 8:30pm Mountain Time.

In other Mountain West Conference Basketball news, the conference has announced that starting next season, all men’s teams will play a 20-game conference schedule, thus every team will play every other team in the conference home and away.

Currently teams have played an 18 game schedule.

They would play 8 other teams twice and the other 2 once.

This season for UW, those 2 teams were San Diego State on the road and Boise State at home.
