The 2022-2023 college rodeo regular season is nearing its end quickly and it’s looking promising for one Sheridan College Cowboy.

This past weekend (March 31 – April 2) was the 8th of 10 rodeos within the college rodeo season as cowboys and cowgirls within the Central Rocky Mountain region competed at Colorado State.

For Sheridan College, Clancy Glenn placed 3rd in the saddle bronc event and Callie Aamot was 4th in the barrel racing.

As a team, the Sheridan College men placed 6th and the women were 3rd.

The University of Wyoming dominated both genders of competition.

With 2 rodeos to go before the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Glenn has a commanding lead in the saddle bronc standings, thanks to winning the previous 4 rodeos before this past weekend.

Wyatt Phelps is 4th in the bull riding and is within striking distance of 3rd place, which is where a competitor needs to be at the end of the regular season to qualify for the CNFR.

With the approaching Easter Holiday, there is no competition this weekend.

The next event will be next week Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Casper College, and then the season will conclude 2 weeks later at UW.

The CNFR is scheduled to take place the week of June 11th through the 17th.
