Weekend Sports Preview: September 23-25, 2022

High School Football – Another Friday night of high school football is upon us and unlike last week, all 3 Sheridan County teams are home tonight.
Sheridan hosts Thunder Basin beginning at 7pm.
We will have the game live for you beginning with the pre-game show at about 6:30, on 14-10 KWYO and 106.9 FM plus our live video web stream at sheridanmedia.com.
Tongue River is home vs. Newcastle and Big Horn is home vs. Torrington.
Both of those games are scheduled to kickoff at 6pm.
Volleyball – Sheridan will play today and tomorrow at the Casper Invitational.
Big Horn went on the road last night and swept Tongue River.
The Lady Rams will also play in the Casper Invitational this weekend.
TR will be home this afternoon vs. Sundance.
Saturday’s home game vs. Lovell has been postponed to Monday.
Arvada-Clearmont will be on the court twice tomorrow at home against both Rock River and Ten Sleep.
State Tennis – The High School State Tennis tournament started yesterday in Gillette and will continue today and into tomorrow.
For the Sheridan boys, only Peter LaRosa and Luca Sinclair made it to the semi-finals in boys #3 doubles.
All the other Broncs are in the consolation round and are trying to work their way to the 3rd place trophy.
For the Sheridan girls, everyone except for #1 singles made it to today’s semi-finals.
In the team standings after 1 day, the Broncs are tied for 7th, while the Lady Broncs are in 2nd place, 3 points behind defending state champ Kelly Walsh.
Cross Country – Sheridan will run today at Rapid City..the girls race is scheduled to begin at 1pm, and the boys at 1:30pm.
Girls Swimming – Sheridan will compete at Buffalo today and then host the Sheridan Invitational tomorrow beginning at 9am.
Wyoming Cowboy Football – The Wyoming Cowboys play the late game tomorrow at BYU, kickoff is scheduled for 8:15pm.
Cowboy pregame starts at 6:45pm with kickoff at 8:15 on AM 14-10 KWYO and 106.9 FM.
Denver Broncos Football – The Denver Broncos play the Sunday night game this weekend at home against the San Francisco 49ers.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:20pm.
We will have the game LIVE on AM 14-10 KWYO.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were swept in a 4-game series at home vs. the San Francisco Giants, losing yesterday 3-0.
The Rocks begin a 3-game home series today with the San Diego Padres, first pitch is scheduled for 6-10pm.
This weekend will be the final home games of the season for the Rockies.
After that, the team will play its final 9 games on the road.
Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks play today and tomorrow at Helena.
Colorado Avalanche Pre-Season Hockey: The defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche begin the pre-season with a pair of split squad games this Sunday.
One squad will play at Minnesota, while the other will play at home vs. Vegas.
